Overview
Eratos is an Australian-based technology start-up that has developed a platform for the management of cyber physical data. At its core, the Eratos platform makes data FAIR – Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable. With strong links to Australia’s research sector, Eratos is helping to scale remote sensing, IoT, and climate data for the commercial and government sectors.
Eratos gateway nodes manage access, distribution, and translation of datasets on a given system. Fetching and translation of datasets are primarily achieved through type and connector interfaces as shown in figure 1.

Figure 1: Eratos Type to Connector Flow
Users may access datasets through type interfaces that map to common data types which connect to, and are translated from, specific data formats, APIs, or databases via connectors. Gateway nodes may be provisioned in many different environments and may either store new data or sync existing data on the system.
